OVERhang seeks a Full Time Climbing Gym Manager

The successful candidate will be able to manage the risks associated with climbing while fostering a culture of safety, fun, and adventure for all.

 

Core responsibilities include:

  • Recruitment and retention of OVERhang team members, including staff training, professional development, scheduling, and fostering a culture of positive team engagement;
  • Development and implementation of policies and procedures contributing to the culture of excellence and safety that OVERhang is known for;
  • Direct and continuously evaluate the operations of programs and services, including a strong youth climbing program, adult technique classes, group bookings, and summer camp programming
  • Development of marketing campaigns and branding on social media platforms and print formats
  • Provide technical and professional advice on matters regarding the sport of climbing
  • Prepare budget estimates, manage administrative elements, and monitor revenue and expenses associated with current programs, pricing, and new initiatives
  • Development of dynamic opportunities, programs, and events to increase recruitment, membership, and engagement in the sport
  • Cultivating partnership opportunities with community organizations and businesses to build upon the OVERhang brand and fostering a beneficial reciprocal community presence

 

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • University degree in recreation, tourism, kinesiology, physical education, sports administration, business, or related field, and/or;
  • College diploma in recreation management, sports administration, recreation therapy, or related field and at least 1 year experience in a leadership role;
  • Experience in management with a demonstrated history of team development, leadership, mediation, and approaches of progressive discipline where required
  • Budget development and financial transaction recording, including P.O.S. system, cash, and balancing of daily transactions
  • Skilled at technology, computer, and social media platforms
